Fallen VADER Drummer's Family Launches Tribute Site
November 22, 2005The family of Krzysztof "Doc" Raczkowski — the legendary VADER/DIES IRAE drummer who passed away last summer — has launched a tribute site for Doc on MySpace.
"This site is a tribute to our beloved husband and father," reads a posting on the site. "One of the greatest and most wonderful people. One of the most talented drummers in the heavy rock history..."
The family is asking for comments, links and photos connected to Doc's work. In addition, they have announced that the the site will feature samples of his work, including some more obscure material that wasn't widely available.
A posting from Doc's wife Alex (mother of Doc's daughter) reads as follows:
"I want to thank all those who helped us in our most tragic and painful moments.
"First of all I thank the whole SWEET NOISE band for showing heart and being undeniably helpful. They gave us strength, warmth and shelter. Thank you for your love and respect for Doc. You had a beautiful road ahead of you… The whole HUNTER band for all they did for me when I needed them. In Krzysztof's name I thank you for the concerts. The VADER band for the long way and building his legend. I also thank you for the help with Krzysztof's funeral.
"I want to thank all of our friends. Sorry it's impossible to mention all of your names. I thank you for all the warm words, for support and weeping my tears.
"I know you all loved Krzysztof for being a great musician and a beautiful man. With his sudden departure he caused us unbelievable pain and emptiness. So many things remained unfulfilled. In our life something very important and beautiful was evolving. We had our plans and our destinations. Fate chose another way.
"In my heart he stays as THE ONE AND ONLY. Great partner, loving husband and father (I love you for all the things that you gave me and for those you were still to give...)
"I want to ask you for the memories of Doc. Let the memory stay alive."
